April 2017 Photographer of the Month – Paul Barsby
Congratulations to Paul Barsby of Paul Barsby Photography. Paul is the winner of our BOM Photographer of the Month competition, with three beautiful images taken during April 2017! His prize is a £200 voucher for processing with Premier Image, the top UK pro-photo processing lab, who sponsor this competition.
“We are delighted to have won this accolade being relatively new to Baby of the Month.
I have been a professional photographer for over 30 years initially starting in weddings and then moving into Studio portraiture. This year is our 25th Anniversary of running the Studio in Tunbridge Wells, so we have been celebrating with lots of competitions for our clients. My wife Beverley and I run the Studio together and aim to make it a friendly, fun place to come and have your portraits taken. I now have clients I photographed many years ago bring their babies to be photographed, which I take as a huge compliment.
Beverley is a self-confessed lover of all things baby! She is brilliant with little ones and can calm them down and make them laugh in equal measures. She is never adverse to cuddles, especially when it comes to a newborn baby and she is often asked if she is available for babysitting!
Having just retired from doing weddings I am now mostly Studio based apart from visiting people in their own homes to do the occasional external family portrait. We like to constantly change and develop our shoots with myself working on different techniques and Beverley being the prop lady.
We do everything from family including the pets, newborns, children, teens, cake smashes, fine art and our very popular CUBE which I developed about 4 years ago. We have brought up three children ourselves and never cease to be amazed at how no two children or families are ever the same and that is what we aim to capture. Just when I think I know everything, a very small child will tell me differently!”
