We are pleased to announce that Barrett & Coe Birmginham has been chosen as the winner of the September 2023 BOM Photographer of the Month Competition with entries from Jaswant Clare, their photographer.

The awards were formed to recognise the quality of photography among our Approved and Recommended studios and are judged by a representative of our charity partner Tusk. Three of Jaswant’s (pictured left with wife Manisha) entries were selected for their excellence in the September 2023 Baby of the Month competition and he will receive £50 and a winner’s certificate.

On commenting on his win, Jaswant told us:

“It is an honour to be recognised for my work, and I am thrilled to have received this award. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Barrett & Coe who made this possible. Your support and encouragement have been invaluable, and I am grateful for all that you have done.”

Jaswant completed an ICT degree at Birmingham City University in 2012. He quickly moved to a career in commercial photography and started taking portraits in 2022. With his wife Manisha, he opened Barrett & Coe Birmingham in October 2022 which is based on Soho Hill near the Jewellery Quarter.

The studio was extensively redecorated by Jaswant to make it a welcoming environment, and this has been reflected in the feedback he’s received from clients since opening. The studio is fully equipped for family, baby, and pet photography and Jaswant has begun working with many businesses in the local area to raise awareness of its services.

Jaswant’s wife Manisha has experience working with children since the age of 16, has a degree in education studies, and has been a teacher for 3 years with children aged 2-10. Manisha has loved working in the studio with Jaswant and feels she is in her element and can combine her love for photography and working with children into one job. The studio has ample free parking and is close to the A41 with public transport links close by.
