Congratulations to Richard Shymansky Photography, who has achieved his first winning image in the Baby of the Month competition!
His entry of baby Iris proved popular with our Mum and Sponsor judging panels in the December 2023 competition. Iris will soon receive a £50 Boots voucher and be part of the 2023 Baby of the Year competition, where she could win £5000!
We spoke to Richard to find out what he thought about achieving his first winner in the Baby of the Month competition.
“As a seasoned professional photographer, my journey has been marked by capturing the essences of numerous high-profile individuals, including esteemed members of the Royal Family. My previous studios, strategically located in Eton, Knightsbridge, and Harrow, laid the groundwork for my current bespoke studio—adjoined to my residence (in Maidenhead), offering convenience with ample parking.
My wife Zoe and I co-manage this studio, ensuring each client receives a tailor-made, soothing experience. Although my portfolio spans a diverse clientele, the joy of photographing families—babies, toddlers, and cherished pets—holds a special place in my craft.
The essence of my work transcends mere portrait perfection; it’s about crafting an indelible experience that families will hold dear for generations. Capturing the innocence of infancy is not only my passion but also a privilege, allowing me to immortalize pivotal moments that will be cherished for years to come.
Achieving a winner in the Baby of the Month competition was an unexpected delight, particularly as I seldom enter contests. The winning subject was a delight to photograph, and I eagerly anticipate their return to my studio, a testament to the joy and fulfillment I find in this vocation.”

Richard was amazing from the get go! He made us feel so relaxed and made the whole thing a really fun experience. He was so lovely with our young baby, there were plenty of smiles and giggles! We would definitely go again!
