Frequently Asked Questions

If your baby has star potential, and you’re ready to enter our competition, take a look at some of the frequently asked questions we’ve been asked by past entrants.

How can I enter the competition?

We’d love you to enter our competition!

To register for a future competition, please visit https://www.babyphotographers.co.uk/emmas-diary-registration/

Once we receive your details, our bookings team will be in touch to arrange a photography experience with your nearest UK-based Approved & Recommended Photographer. There’s usually no charge for the session, but some studios may ask for a fully refundable deposit to secure your appointment.

Once your photography experience has taken place, you’ll have the chance to choose one image to enter into our competition. There’s also the chance to purchase additional portraits, however, there is absolutely no obligation to do so.

Entry to the competition is via a £1.50 donation to the charity Tusk, which protects endangered species in Africa. This will be collected during your viewing that follows your photography session.

We look forward to seeing your baby’s entry in the future!

Will I have to pay to enter?

There’s usually no charge for your photography session, but some studios may ask for a fully-refundable deposit to secure your appointment.

Entry to the Baby of the Month competition is free, we just ask for a £1.50 being donated to our charity partner Tusk, who support endangered wildlife in Africa.

Why do we have to pay a refundable booking deposit?

This is required in some circumstances where a peak or specialist appointment slot is required.

As we’re sure you can appreciate, we are extremely busy at these times so therefore need to ensure that our studio and photographer time is protected.

Any deposit taken is fully refundable at the end of your viewing appointment.

How do I submit an image?

We’re unable to accept images from customers, but by registering on our website we can direct you to your nearest UK-based Approved & Recommended Photographer who will be able to arrange a photographic experience for you and your baby.

There’s usually no charge for the session, but some photographers may ask for a fully refundable deposit to secure your appointment.

Once your photography experience has taken place, you will be given the opportunity to choose one image to enter into our competition. There will be the opportunity to purchase additional portraits if you wish, however, there is absolutely no obligation to do so.

Entry to the competition is via a £1.50 donation to the charity Tusk. This will be collected during your viewing that follows your photography session.

How do I see the number of votes?

In May 2021, we made a change in the way entries can be voted for by the public.

This permanent change involved moving competition voting to the Baby of the Month website, instead of our Facebook page.

The change was introduced to prevent images being shared in Facebook groups that go against our competition terms and conditions.

This also means the number of votes an image receives is no longer displayed, to prevent an image being artificially voted for, and gives everyone the same chance of winning.

How much do images cost?

Once you have registered for a Baby of the Month photography experience, our bookings team will be in touch to locate your closest studio and get an appointment booked in.

We work with over 100 photographers across the UK, but unfortunately we don’t hold their prices on file.

The cost of photography products is something you can discuss with your photographer once an appointment has been booked.

Where are the images uploaded?

All entries for the current competition have been uploaded to our Public Vote page https://www.babyphotographers.co.uk/publicvote/

If you cannot see your baby’s image please contact your photographer to see when they will be uploading to a future competition.

What colour will my images be in?

The images entered into the competition are either black and white or sepia, colour images are not permitted for entry.

We consider black and white/sepia images to be classic and timeless, a hallmark of our competition.

How do I share an entry?

Once you have voted for an image, click on one of the Sharing options on the image of your choice.

Do you count votes on Social Media?

For Votes to be counted, they must be made on images on our Public Vote page on our website.

Where is my baby's image?

If you cannot see your baby’s image in our competition, then please contact your photographer regarding this.
